Parkes Dragon Boat Club Spring Event , the Western Region Virtual Challenge. The challenge is to walk regularly until the course that has been set around the entire Western Region is complete. You can walk (or run) individually or in groups .

Denise will collate the kilometres covered each week and submit the total to Parkes DBC. They will keep track of where our team is on the ‘virtual map’. As each club’s team moves along the map you will receive virtual postcards from places you pass. A dedicated Facebook page will post any pictures and comments that you would like to submit.

Walking will begin on 1 September and no distances completed prior to this date should be submitted. The cost is $15, which will cover a medal and donation to the Cancer Council NSW.

From 1 September, walk/run using an app, such as Strava which is free to keep track of your daily distance. Fitbits and pedometers are not permitted. You must track the dedicated walk /run that you complete. Three months is allowed for completion of the course.

Weekly totals should be sent by SMS to Denise on 0419 432 737 by Sunday night so that the total can be sent to Parkes each Monday.

At the end of the challenge all participants will be invited to come together for a celebratory BBQ and medal presentation!
