BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP

MEN and WOMEN of all ages and CHILDREN aged 10 years and over can be involved in dragon boating and become members of Bidgee Dragons. We are the local sporting club for one of the fastest growing water sports in Australia - dragon boating. We offer new paddlers the opportunity to come and try our sport for five sessions before becoming  a member. A very small fee to cover insurance with DBNSW insurers applies.

We are a group of people from all walks of like who love to get fit, have fun and make new friends through the sport of dragon boat paddling. Apart from paddling and competing in regional, state, national and international dragon boat regattas, we also hold great social functions for members and friends throughout the year. We often gather for coffee and a chat after training.

Our club also assists all cancer survivors who are supported to take up exercise to aid their recovery from surgery.

REGATTAS

As a member of Bidgee Dragons, you are eligible to attend and participate in any regatta in NSW, interstate, nationally and even internationally. The entry fee for most regattas are set by DBNSW, with accommodation and travel expenses being shared among the participants. We aim, as a team, to attend at least one regatta every two months. Participation in regattas is not compulsory, but we strongly encourage our members to experience the excitement of competing as a team against fellow dragonboat clubs. It really is tremendous fun, especially when success is ours... and even when it's not!

VOLUNTEER AND SOCIAL MEMBERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

if you are not wanting to paddle through injury or physical disabilities  but love to help out,  then this membership is for you.  We have an excellent group of  committee members, paddling members and volunteer co-ordinators. The success of our club depends on the ongoing involvement and input of all of our members and we would love you to be part of our team. We encourage:

  • promote dragon boating in the local community
  • exchanging and sharing of ideas for special events and fundraising with fellow mwmbers
  • general fun and friendships and
  • any excuse to celebrate life!

Bidgee Dragons welcomes anyone who is willing to have a go. We hope that is YOU!!
